科目:高中英語 來源: 題型:閱讀理解

The physical memory dump(電腦死機) error is a big problem that affects even the most advanced computer systems.Although it's quite a rare error, it's one of the most stopping what you're doing and restarting your computer—making you lose all your unsaved data. This is a big problem, but there is actually a very easy way to fix it.

There are two reasons why the physical memory dump happens. The first is pretty simple and is to do with the "hardware", and if any of these pieces are not fit for your system, it will cause the physical memory dump. So, if you've recently added any hardware to your PC, then take that out and see if it works.

The other reason is your system, the "registry".The registry is a big database(數據庫)that operates in the background of Windows, storing all sorts of settings and information about your PC.The problem with the registry is that since it has so many important files inside, it's constantly got hundreds of files open every time you use your PC.And because there are so many files to open at once, Windows is constantly getting confused, leading it to save many of these files in the wrong way. These files go wrong when saved wrongly, making them difficult for your computer to read. However, if it can't read the files at all, it has no choice but to stop everything it's doing and restart your PC.This is why the physical memory dump error appears so easily—because when a registry file is so wrong that it can't be read, your computer needs to refresh itself immediately.

This latter reason for causing the physical memory dump is actually extremely common and the likelihood is that your PC is suffering from it, if you're seeing this error.Luckily, it's also incredibly easy to fix—you just need to use a software tool called a "registry cleaner" to go through the registry and fix all the problems in there.

A.the dump error often happens to your PC

B.the dump canbe dealt with easily

C.only the advanced computers suffers from the error

B.your Windows needs to be upgraded

C.you have saved wrong files in the PC

D.you have stored too many files in the PC.

74.What’s problem with the registry when your PC goes wrong?

A.The register can’t read the files correctly.

B.It must open 100 files every time you use your PC.

C.The register doesn’t agree with the database.

D.The register must save many important files inside.

科目:高中英語 來源:福建省泉州一中2010屆高三最后模擬考試英語試題 題型:閱讀理解

Our plan was to drive into Cambridge, catch the 7:34 train to Liverpool Street Station, then to separate and meet again for lunch. We should have arrived at Liverpool at 9:19, but due to a typical London fog, the train had to move along so slowly that it wasn’t until 10:30 that it got there. In spite of our late arrival, Joan, my wife’s sister, decided that she would go to see the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London while we went shopping. It was only after her sister had disappeared into the fog that my wife realized that we hadn’t decided where we should meet for lunch.Since I had our three tickets for the concert in my pocket, this was indeed a problem. There seemed to be nothing we could do except taking a taxi to the Tower of London, and try to find her there.Needless to say, we didn’t find her.
It was now one o’clock, and the concert began at 2:30.“Perhaps she will think of waiting outside the concert hall,” suggested my wife hopefully.By this time the fog was so thick that road traffic had to stop, and the only way to get there was by underground railway.Hand in hand we felt our way along the road to where we thought the nearest station should be.An hour later we were still trying to find it.Just as I was about to lose my temper completely when we met a blind man tapping his way confidently through the fog. With his help we found Tower Hill tube station just fifty yards down the road.
By now it was far too late even to try to get to the concert hall before the performance began at 2:30, so we decided to return to Cambridge. It took seven long hours instead of the usual two to make that journey.Nor were we able to get any food and drink on the train.Tired and hungry we finally reached home at ten, opening the door to the sound of the telephone bell.It was Joan; she had seen the Crown Jewels, had managed to get another ticket for concert, and had had a wonderful dinner at a restaurant near the hotel where she decided to stay for the night. Now she was ringing to discover whether we had had an equally successful day.
1.Why was Joan separated from her sister and her brother-in-law?
A.they could not see each other because of the fog.
B.Joan had not seen Crown Jewels.
C.They planned to do different things until lunch time.
D.The writer didn’t want to go to the concert.
2.What did the writer plan to do in the afternoon?
A.Go to the concert.                      B.See the Crown Jewels.
C.Return to Cambridge.                    D.Go shopping.
3.The reason why they didn’t all meet for lunch was that _______.
A.They lost their way in the fog
B.they forgot to make necessary arrangement
C.they waited at different places and didn’t meet each other
D.the couple couldn’t find the underground station
4.It’s quite clear that for Joan the trip to London had been ________.
A.spilt by the fog                      B.quite tiring
C.rather disappointing               D.very enjoyable

科目:高中英語 來源:2010-2011四川成都六校協作高二下學期期中英語試卷 題型:閱讀理解

If there is one thing I’m sure about, it is that in a hundred years from now we will still be reading newspapers. It is not that newspapers are a necessity. Even now some people get most of their news from television or radio. Many buy a paper only on Saturday or Sunday. But for most people reading a newspaper has become a habit passed down from generation to generation.
The nature of what is news may change. What basically makes news is what affects our lives—the big political stories, the coverage of the wars, earthquakes and other disasters, will continue much the same. I think there will be more coverage of scientific research, though. It’s already happening in areas that may directly affect our lives, like genetic(基因)engineering. In the future, I think there will be more coverage of scientific explanations of why we feel as we do—as we develop a better understanding of how the brain operates and what our feelings really are.
It’s quite possible that in the next century newspapers will be transmitted(傳送)electronically from Fleet Street and printed out in our own home. In fact, I’m pretty sure how it will happen in the future. You will probably be able to choose from a menu, making up your own newspaper by picking out the things you want to read—sports and international news, etc. .
I think people have got it wrong when they talk about competition between the different media. They actually feed off each other. Some people once foresaw that television would kill off newspapers, but that hasn’t happened. What is read on the printed page lasts longer than pictures on a screen or sound lost in the air. And as for the Internet, it’s never really pleasant to read something  just  on  a screen.
【小題1】.
. What is the best title for the passage?
A The Best Way to Get News
B The Changes of Media
C  Make Your Own Newspaper
D The Future of Newspaper
【小題2】.
In the writer’s opinion, in the future,_____.
A. more big political affairs, wars and disasters will make news
B. newspapers will not be printed in publishing houses any longer
C newspapers will cover more scientific research
D more and more people will watch TV
【小題3】.
From the passage, we can infer____.
A newspapers will win the competition among the different media
B newspapers will stay with us together with other media
C television will take the place of newspaper
D the writer believes some media will die out
【小題4】.
. The phrase “feed off” in the last paragraph means____.
A depend on       B compete with                   C fight with       D kill off
