I was watching some little kids play football．These kids were only five or six years old, but they were playing a real game－two teams, complete with coaches and parents．I didn’t 1 any of them, so I was able to enjoy the game without worrying about winning or losing－I wished the parents and coaches could have done the same．
The teams were completely matched．I will 2 call them Team One and Team Two．Nobody scored in the first period, but they didn’t 3 to care．They were having fun．In the second quarter, the Team One coach pulled out what must have been his first team and 4 in the scrubs(替補(bǔ)隊(duì)員), except his best player who now guarded the goal(球門;進(jìn)球得分)．The game took a big turn．I guess winning is 5 even when you’re five years old．Because the Team Two coach left his 6 players in, and the Team One scrubs were no match for them．Team Two came around the little kid who was now the Team One goalie(守門員)．He was an excellent player, but he was no match for three or four who were also very good．The lonely goalie gave it everything he had, trying to 7 the incoming balls．Team Two scored two goals soon after that．It infuriated(使大怒)the young boy．He shouted and ran．After the fourth goal, the little boy became quite desperate(希望渺茫的)and then he 8 ．
When the boy went to his knees, I saw the father come and carry him 9 the field, and I heard him say, “Scotty, it doesn’t matter how many times they scored on you．I want you to go back there and finish the game．In my eyes, you are the winner! Go on, now．”The little kid ran back onto the field, and they scored two more times, but it was 10 ．Now in all viewers’(觀眾的)eyes, he is the Winner．
When you’re 11 , and you’re getting scored on, and you can’t stop them, even if you are angry－it doesn’t matter to those who love you．In their eyes, so long as you don’t 12 up, you are the winner．And they are always proud of you．
