　　When Jorge's family came to Sao Paulo, they could not find anywhere to live．So they moved to a place near the city where people live in roughly built homes．This area is called a shanty town．Unlike other towns, there is no running water, no schools, and the roads are bad．

　　Jorge's mother and two elder sisters go to work in the city every day．They work in a factory, making shoes．Jorge and the other children play football with friends on the rubbish dump(垃圾場)next to the shanty town．They do not go to school．Jorge will also be going to work at the factory next year．

　　Jorge says,“We came here to get a better life．My family now has enough money to give us food but I don't like living in the city．This place is not clean and I often get sick．I want to go back to the countryside．I also want to go back to school．”
