Kid Power in Action!
Kids wanted a Chicken Soup book of their own, so here it is! Children Soup for the Kid’s Soul is for kids ages nine through thirteen, and it’s “all that!”
Sometimes you feel like life is a complete blast（沖擊）, from scoring the winning goal to hanging out with your friends. Yet other times, life is too difficult: You seem to see violence（暴力） everywhere you turn, more parents are getting divorced（離婚）, your best friend moves away, or you feel like you don’t fit in.
Now there is a place to find answers and encouragement and to help you realize that your dreams really can come true.
With funny stories about friendship and family, and serious stories about brave kids and difficult choices, this book will make you laugh, cry, think, and feel good about yourself.
Ever since the first Chicken Soup for the Soul was published in June 1993, we have been getting requests（請(qǐng)求） from kids all over the world asking for a Chicken Soup book just for them. So here it is, the first full-length Chicken Soup for the Kid’s Soul, written by kids and by grown-ups who haven’t forgotten what it’s like to be a kid.
We would like to know how the stories in the book will affect you and which ones are your favorites, please write to us and let us know. We also invite you to send us any stories that you would like us to consider for the second book: Helping of Chicken Soup for the Kid’s Soul. You may send stories and poems that you have written, or ones that you have read and liked.

A lot of adults worry that spending too much time playing video games
isn't good for a kid's health. But some doctors have noticed that kids who
bring their handheld game players to the hospital seem less worried about
being there. They also seem to have less pain when they are playing games.
Some patients must be hooked up to dialysis machines ( 透析器) at
least three hours each time. Doctors allow kids to play online sports,racing,
and other games with each other. "We want to use the power of the Internet

The Power of Dream
When your dream is to become a footballer, nothing should get in your way—even if you have no feet.
Gabriel Muniz, an 11-year-old Brazil kid, was born without feet. Although his family thought he would have serious difficulties living a normal life, he started walking before he was one year old. His mother would go after him, expecting him to keep falling, but he never fell. It took him a while to make the jump from walking to playing football, but he did make it. And, in fact, there’s nothing he loves more than playing football. In his school, the skillful youngster is not only the best player in his school team but also the captain of his gym team.
He knows that his disability means he’ll never be able to play for a professional football team. So Gabriel is hoping that football will one day become a Paralympics (殘疾人奧運(yùn)會(huì)的) sport. He proved to everyone there he can go head to head with any other boy. Watching him play is unbelievable. He’s fast and he’s got a big bag of tricks—he’s very skilled and he does everything he can to copy his idol, Messi. So much so that he was invited to go to Spain to meet his idol Messi and show his talent in the Barcelona Football Club.
His coach said he is proving the disability only exists inside our heads and he is challenging the social rules.
